Design & Build Quality

Although it sports similarities with the Aegis Mini in terms of design, the Aegis Solo is considerably smaller and lighter. This can be attributed to the battery that it utilizes. The device measures 85mm x 31.5mm x 41.2mm, so it can fit into your hand rather nicely.

Its size and weight also mean that you can enjoy seamless vaping with this device without having to go through the stress of setting up a complex mod.

The Aegis Solo sports rubberized sides with a metal band that go all the way around a small leather-like patch on the chassis. As usual, you can find the inscriptions, GeekVape and Aegis, on the body of the device. While you do get to choose from an array of color variations, they all have one thing in common – a black rubberized exterior. I have to say this is a fine touch as the main color is then indicated by the metal band and buttons.

At the top of the device is where some of the magic happens. The Aegis Solo has a 510 plate that, while it is not centered, can hold up to 26mm tanks without overhang. Once installed, your atomizer sits flush on top of the mod.

Taking a look at the side of the device reveals three buttons: one diamond-shaped firing button and two adjustment buttons. There is also a black and white screen that features the same UI layout as that on the Aegis Legend.

On the rear side of the device is a battery cap with a small handle that adds a rather familiar touch. The highlight here is that even after installing the device’s 18650 battery, there is no rattling whatsoever, and there is a rubber ring on the battery cap that is there for waterproofing. The same rubber is also introduced over the micro-USB port for the same purpose.

The Aegis Solo by GeekVape uses both wattage and VPC modes. While in wattage mode, the mod performs well within 40 to 60W, and that battery does not run down quickly. The VPC setting is also great.

Another interesting feature, and you pretty much guessed it after hearing about the adjustment buttons, is that you can set your wattage curve. Doing so gives you a personalized experience. With the device’s ability to set up to 5 different wattages per draw, you can teak over and over until you find the right setting.

In terms of firing, well, no complaints there, as it fires rather quickly; as soon as you hit the fire button, you get a rush of vaporized e-juice.

Pricing & Availability

All in all, the Aegis Solo Starter Kit by GeekVape does pretty well to sit among the high-ranking mods in the series. It is a small, efficient, and reliable single-battery mod. There aren’t many like it on the market.
